Yesterday I finished David Meerman Scott's book, World Wide Rave, and I highly recommend it. If you're interested in growing your business fast, read this book. Similar to The Open Brand, you can finish it in one weekend. Also similar to TOB is utilizing the socialsphere to call attention to your brand, product, company, etc. DM Scott is a speaker on marketing and leadership and if you intend to execute new marketing strategies, this book is a good primer.
I met David at an Inbound Marketing seminar in San Francisco, April 28-29, 2009. He was a keynote speaker and gave a phenomenal presentation. He also autographed a copy of World Wide Rave and gave it to me. Free! I didn't know it at the time, but David walks his talk. When you read WWR, you'll know what I mean.
Totally accessible guy, totally timely book. I especially like the numerous WWR examples he shares. They are new, fresh, and innovative, yet any organization - large or small - can follow these examples to create a WWR of your own.

If you've read WWR, please share your top 2 take-aways.

I attended an Organization Development workshop over the weekend and participated in discussion about which "tools" are essential for an OD practitioner to succeed.
I work for a company that researches and publishes validated leadership and culture/OD diagnostics so this was a no-brainer for me. Biased, perhaps, but a validated assessment tool would definitely be a key component in my "tool-kit."
How about you? What OD tools are essential to your success and why?
Thanks for sharing.

I've been checking out leadership blogs from 2008 and 2009 "top 100" lists. I graze 10 articles each blog and if it clicks with me, I bookmark it and follow them.
I'm a fan of Ram Charan and Seth Godin but eagerly read other thought-leaders, writers, and practitioners. I hope you find these 3 blogs helpful or interesting. I'll be sharing other faves again soon.
1. Extreme Leadership: http://stevefarber.com/blog/
My top fave this week. Been following Steve Farber's blog for a month. Never heard of him before then and I keep coming back. Am usually cautious of slick sites but his message resonates with me.
2. Linked 2 Leadership: http://linked2leadership.com/
Very smart writing. If you don't find something of personal interest within the first 5 articles, this blog may not be for you. Plenty of good articles so be sure to drill through the site. The contributor column articles are awesome too.
3. Simplicity: http://www.simplicityitk.blogspot.com/
Check out the June 3rd post on receiving feedback. If you've dealt with difficult feedback (via 360 assessment or otherwise), you'll get some insight here and be sure to read the replies.
How about you? What's your favorite, top 3 leadership blogs and why?
Thank you!
